Village Communications Committee Annual Report - 2004
This standing committee, formed in the spring of 2002 by the Homes
Association and Metro District, consists of five owner/residents and
two administrative employees. The Committee members are Leigh Kahn
(Chairperson), Sandra Alinger, Linda Battin, Ken Elliott, Patti
Przybylak (Homes Association), Allison Sandler, and Susan Seamark
(Metro District).
The Village Communications Committee
accomplishments include:
• Publication of the bi-monthly newsletter “The Village Reporter.”
For the 2nd year in a row, the “Village Reporter” came in under
budget, while maintaining a high quality, 12 page publication (often
with an added insert.) Newsletter staff consists of Sandra Alinger
(editor), Linda Battin, Juli Mead, Kelly Williams, Marti Jones, Pam
Dobbs, Rosemary Nigh, Patti Przybylak, Susan Seamark, Leigh Kahn,
Jae Leist and Mark Larson. The “Reporter” is jointly funded by the
Homes Association and the Metro District.
• Gate Signs: To improve communications with
Village residents, gate signs were erected this year at each of the
five Village gates. These signs provide a posting location for key
upcoming events pertinent to all residents, or urgent communications
about road, water, maintenance or other issues effecting residents.
Guidelines for posting are determined by the committee and
maintained by the Homes Association.
• Formation of two new committees: The Village
Events Committee and the Village Welcome Committee are still in
formation, and will be operational in 2005. The Events Committee
will plan social events for residents during the year, with funding
in part from the Homes Association, and in part through fundraising
via a community Business Recognition Program. The Village Welcome
Committee will welcome new residents to the Village with a bag of
“goodies” provided by local businesses, as well as provide helpful
information on the basics of life in the Village.
• Continued maintenance and improvement of Channel
22 and the Village Website –
www.castlepinesvillage.org
The Mission of the Village Communications
Committee is to determine the best way to get the desired
information to residents and other interested parties in a timely,
cost effective, and compelling manner. We work to fulfill that
mission through:
• Improving the overall communication of news, events, and life
within the Village.
• Developing an on-going communication strategy for the newsletter,
Channel 22 and the Web Site, linking the sources of communication
within the Village – CPHA, Metro District, Sub-associations, and
others as appropriate
• Creating a greater sense of community
