Important Notice on the switch to Digital TV Service--February 17, 2009
By law, full-power television stations nationwide must end their analog transmissions and begin broadcasting exclusively in a digital format on February 17, 2009. DTV is available now. Most full-power stations in the country are already broadcasting in digital today.

It is important to note that the government does not require cable companies to transition their systems to digital. They can continue to deliver channels to their customers using analog signals. Actually, cable companies are required under FCC rules to offer local broadcast stations to their customers in analog, as long as they offer any analog service. This requirement will continue for at least three years after February 17, 2009.

The CPHA has a contract with Comcast to provide basic cable only to all of the Village homes as a part of the monthly assessment fees.  The channels that Comcast provides as a part of the basic cable package are analog channels 0-99.  They are not digital channels. Comcast has the discretion to change the basic cable line up and programming of these channels at any time.

The CPHA is working with Comcast to determine what, if any, changes will occur to the basic cable package in February 09.  We will provide you with this information as soon as we receive it.
